Nicknamed "Wistful Happy" because of his sad but endearing expression, this bear is a replica of a top seller at the "Steiff Sommer Auktion" in 2012..

The original bear was once made of tipped mohair, but this effect faded over time. The airbrush artisans at Steiff called attention to the original tipping by painting in the ears, at the neck, and in the seam areas. In fact, the whole bear is painted to achieve an antique effect, with special attention paid to the area under the eyes, which gives the bear its "wistful" expression.

The bear features large dark brown glass pupil eyes, a loosely jointed head, is wood stuffed, and has a squeaker. As befitting a true replica of the period, it has an underscored Button in Ear. A must for the serious collector.
