The last thing in the whole world the old collector, Fraser Street, would have ever anticipated in his wildest dreams, was to find a piece of Moorcroft named after himself. Even his beloved dog, Effie, is included in the design being taken for his daily stroll.
The good thing about having a design named after you is that you don't have to sign it, but the Fraser Street plaque is unique. Designed entirely by Emma Bossons, this delightfully imaginative plaque incorporates images of some of Moorcroft's most famous designers. The image of the street itself and the Lowryesque people (and dog), come from Kerry Goodwin. The symbolic planet and stars are a theme from Vicky Lovatt’s beloved cosmos. Inevitably, a brightly-coloured butterfly is a creation of Emma herself while the lily is a favourite design image in the Nicola Slaney. As for the poppies, they are now synonymous with the name of senior Moorcroft designer, Rachel Bishop.
What Emma has done is to take five favoured images from her four Design Studio colleagues and herself, and has worked them together into one incredible piece, assuredly earmarked for Moorcroft history. The plaque carries the signatures of all five designers. Best of all, since design at Moorcroft is coordinated by Collectors Club secretary, Elise Adams, the Fraser Street plaque unusually carries the signature of Elise herself.
